The Dyson V11 Torque Drive is the latest and greatest cordless vacuum cleaner on the market. The suction performance of this device never disappoints, with a battery that lasts for hours at a time before needing to be recharged. It features an easy-to-use design that makes it simple to place wherever you need in your home while also being reliable enough to get any job done despite its weight as compared with other competitors’ devices!

The Dyson V11 Torque Drive has two features that make it stand out from the competition. The first is a display on its LCD screen, which provides information about battery life so you know when to charge your device. Secondly, there’s an automatic mode for hands-free cleaning! Despite these high quality and original qualities though, there are some things I don’t like: this vacuum cleaner is strikingly heavy in my hand (and noisy too)!

Dyson vacuum cleaners generally look futuristic but are still largely normal vacuum cleaners. This changes a bit with the V11 because the new range of functions could prove to be groundbreaking for the premium class.

There is a visible, with colored LCD in the handle of the V11, it shows all important data centrally while vacuuming. This includes the current power level and the rest of the battery life, accurate to the second. Also, the display shows a small video guide when something needs to be done – for example how to tighten a filter if it is loose.

Also, the so-called Torque Drive nozzle is currently only included with the “Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum” version. This universal electric brush feeds information to the main unit so that it can automatically adjust the power level. As a result, the V11 only sucks as much as it is necessary.

This saves battery power, which is between 12 and 83 minutes depending on the mode (Min, Mid and Max).

In medium performance mode, the V11 switches to automatic mode when the torque drive nozzle is connected.

Better performance than classic models

The Dyson V11 is no exception but even better when it comes to performance. 

With the Torque Drive brush on carpets, it extracted a whopping 98.8 percent of the distributed quartz sand from the fibers at maximum performance. This is better than the best of those classic canister vacuum cleaners. Even with minimal performance, the V11 still manages to remove 69 percent.

The Dyson V11 does a great job on hard floors too. Even at minimal performance, it sucks up 55.2 percent more dust than many other models at the highest level. 

When it comes to suction performance, the V11 is currently state-of-the-art. Thanks to joint, mini-electric and combination nozzles, it offers sufficient flexibility for most areas of application.

The only disadvantage of the high performance: The vacuum cleaner is loud, both at low and high levels.

With Dyson V11, you can easily empty it over a trash can with the push of a button. This mechanism is easy to operate and potentially swirls up so little dust that you can close the trash can lid before getting a cloud of dust in your face.

You can also remove the filters and wash them. Therefore, there are no additional costs even after a long period of use.

The container design allows you to empty the vacuum cleaner far down in the trash can.

Especially if you compare the vacuum cleaner with its predecessor, you will notice a high visual similarity. The body is made of silver, with some red and purple accents. In the box, you will get the mini motorized tool, Torque drive head, crevice tool, soft dusting brush, stubborn dirt brush, combination tool, docking station, charger and wand storage clip.

First, about the Torque Drive head which is also known as a universal brush. You can use it on all surfaces and it gives a good suction result. It also provides the vacuum cleaner with important information so that it can individually adapt its performance to the surface.

This has a great advantage with which you save electricity in the long run since the power is regulated automatically.

With the colored LCD, you can read a lot of important data, such as the current power level or how long the battery will last.

The handling

In terms of operation, the Dyson V11 is comparable to the V10. This means that the connections and attachments slide into each other with a simple push of a button, but can also be taken apart just as quickly. 

The power regulation, however, takes place via the button on the handle.

If you do not want to adjust the power, you can also leave it to the Torque Drive brush. As already mentioned, it checks the surface and can adjust the performance accordingly. This saves you a lot of work and, above all, battery power.

One of the biggest highlights is the battery. It offers larger cells than its predecessor and thus offers improved suction performance in the Dyson V11. 

The big question now is how long the vacuum cleaner can be used. If you use ECO mode, the vacuum cleaner can vacuum for one hour without stopping. The auto mode, where the vacuum cleaner regulates the power itself, is limited to about 40 minutes.

If you want full power, select Boost mode. But after ten minutes it’s over. It is noteworthy that the display of the battery life is accurate to the second. 

So you can estimate the time well and take advantage of the battery life accordingly. 

Due to the increased performance, the device takes a little longer to charge than its predecessors. However, the battery is full again after 4.5 hours.

Enormous price

The Dyson V11 is a great cordless vacuum cleaner and shows impressively what a device of this class can do.

Ultimately, everyone has to ask the question:

Is a vacuum cleaner – no matter how good – worth a price of more than 600 dollars?
